Connecting the Embassies in Dupont Circle

This is my first graduate project in my Advanced Interior Environment Class. Dupont circle is an area in Washington D.C. that is home to over 27 embassies. With so many different countries being represented, it is important to make sure visitors feel comfortable when they are in a place that they may not know a lot about. Creating a space for them to connect more towards home, this new cafe will serve food and snacks from the 27 countries in the .3 mile radius of Dupont Circle. Thinking about the site, it is originally a very popular Starbucks location. Already having a reputation of high foot traffic, that will continue to the new tenant. The hope of this new cafe is to bring people together to learn, socialize, and try new things. Dupont circle is an area filled with many different types of people and this cafe will celebrate those differences.
